Hi @pete123 and a warm welcome to the community! I am sorry to hear this. PIP is unfortunately a completely different benefit to DLA. Do you need any support regarding your appeal? Many community members have been through this process so I am sure we would be able to help if you need anything at all

Not a problem @pete123
Citizens Advice are able to help you through this. Also, here is information from the Scope website about the appeal process and what steps to take/ what to expect. If you need anything else then please do let me know1 -

A mandatory decision. My doctor wanted to put me on the sick but I can't afford to.1

@pete123 my mandatory decision didn’t change anything so I am now waiting for my appeal date have you requested a copy of your face to face medical report? That’s where you find out what has been written about you to help dwp make their decision1

Hi I and still waiting to hear back about my PIP appeal it has been weeks now how long does the appeal take please.I have also been put on the sick because of ill health. I have had to go on universal credit because of a drop in my hours what a waste of time that is.0

It can take a year in some areas for a hearing date. It all depends on backlog in your area. You can ring HMCTS and ask them approx how long it will be and they'll tell you.
