@robinhood8 hello and sorry to hear youre situation, i was dismissed from my job due to my health and i was on statutory sick pay for 28 weeks paid by my employer after that finished i had to apply for employment and support allowance, is this your last wage? Or sick pay wage? X

@robinhood8 i had to get a sick note from
my gp and give it to my employer and that started my sick pay from work, have you been dismissed from work or have you already been on the sick?

@robinhood8 is this your last sick pay wage then? If it is i had to get a form from my employer after the 28 weeks of sick pay finished and i had to send it to the dwp the best thing could be to ring the dwp and see if its still the same process and they may tell you what you can apply for and tell you how, theres lots of helpfull people on here that could probably direct you to a benefits advisor as im not sure as things change year by year, im sure someone will be able to better direct you soon take care and try not to worry x

    Hi @robinhood8
Welcome to the community! Sorry to hear what is happening. I went to the Job Centre the day after I got dismissed from my job. They suggested that I should apply for ESA and PIP. No joy from ESA but was receiving PIP enhanced rates on both components. I suggest applying for ESA first. You can check out the videos and information about ESA here :)

    Hi,
SSP is payable for 28 weeks, then ESA after this. If you've already claimed the SSP then you'll need the SSP1 form from your employer to be able to claim ESA.
