I was diagnosed last year with autism. I am in my 50's, so I must be really good at masking or people are blind and prefer to blame for autistic type behaviours. I have been asking professionals who deal with my two autistic sons for years if I had it too but they all said no. As I became more affected by physical health problems - and was homeless = more stress - I knew I had to find out if my problems dealing with things were down to autism. So I was finally diagnosed.
Its a journey. I am still finding ways to help myself. I have to be honest, I wish my eyes had been opened many years ago, would have saved a lot of pain.

Thank you both. Think I am on the upward stretch now, thank goodness. Even got specialist therapy via the Royal Maudsley. So the world is a lot better and there is definitely hope!1
