Hello i really need some advice. I won my pip appeal on the 15th of this month after months and months of waiting for my appeal hearing. I've now received a letter stating that the lady who attended my hearing from pip is appealing the judges decision has anybody heard of this before. I'm worried now that I've only just won it but now they will take it off me. Many thanks

Hi @woodster1978, and a warm welcome to the community!
I'm sorry to hear this and that you're feeling worried. Often all you can do in these situations is wait, but you may be interested in reading this past thread from somebody who had a similar experience. It's impossible to predict anybody's outcome, but I hope it helps to know that you're not alone.

Hi and welcomeThe DWP can only appeal a tribunal decision on an error in law. To do so they will apply for a statement of reason from the judgeBe all you can be, make every day count. Namaste

Have they applied for a statement of reasons and record of proceedings or have they got actual leave to appeal?

Hello and thank you for your replies. The letter says they have requested a sor I'm just so confused. It states in the letter that they could want to appeal. I'm just worried I've finally got what I think I deserve for them to take it straight back off me x

They’ve asked for a more detailed explanation. In most cases it ends there.

Does anybody know how long it normally takes from when they request the sor many thanks

There is no set time. Depends on whether your judge was salaried or fee paid. Whether they're doing it in their spare time at home: whether they have any spare time because they're busy doing tribunals all week and so on. No point fretting about it. There is nothing you can do to speed up the process and you absolutely do not want the judge to mess it up by being rushed as can sometimes happen.
