No, it's not. It's a completely different assessment, with different activities and carried out by a different firm. You can find out more about it by completing the ESA self test .
There are some similarities (it's usually done face to face, at an assessment centre) and some overlaps (evidence of what you can't do in your home life can be relevant for ESA), but ESA is supposed to look at what you can and can't do in the context of work. PIP is about your home life and the extra costs of disability, whereas ESA is looking at whether your ability to work is limited by the effects of your condition(s).
