Thank you to everyone who shared their experiences with us about Christmas shopping yesterday.
Today we would like know, how you feel about Christmas parties.
Whether it's with family, friends or colleagues, what has been your experience so far?
What do you like or dislike about Christmas parties?
Will you be attending any this year?

I have avoided parties like the plague for years due to my m h issues. I'm not comfortable in places around people where I can't predict what's going to happen. I need to have get out plans in advance to consider any social event. On the day it will still depend on how I feel and I find that some people do not understand or accept that. Past 8 years at christmas I've preferred to be at home by myself or with my son. I've sent him to family get togethers without me so he can have the good times regardless. Things have been difficult with friends and family since my mum passed away, then my m h declined and family just used to end up either arguing or avoiding each other. Friends just kept expecting me to try harder and get better. Then fell away. Now, I chose to do what feels best for me. More so this year as my dad passed away in May. No parties for me for sure.1

I hear what you are saying, I feel some of that too. I hate the drama and the arguments usually caused by alcohol, as I don't drink I don't have much tolerance for those that do and act up.1

Hi @debbiedo49
Thank you for sharing your story with us. I am so sorry to hear about your parents, please accept my condolences. I understand, I am happy to hear you made the decision to do what is best for you. We are all here to support you if you need someone to talk to. I know it may not be easy but I hope you and your son have a lovely festive season.

Hi @ChrissyDavies
Thank you for sharing this. Yes, it's definitely not a nice space to be in. It is exhausting.
