Hi I hope someone can clarify something for me. I received my state pension on 6 March and got my first monthly payment in April. My partner has had his pension a few years ago. We are both on Pip daily living standard care so we qualified for SDP as a couple. However the payments for pension credit and SDP seemed to have stopped the day after my state pension was paid into my bank is that right?  Hope someone can advise me. Thank you Mary

Oh does it Dotty I didn’t know that. I thought it continued because it was a disability benefit.

    Hi,

SDP doesn't stop when you get state pension. It's paid in with your pension credit and it's these you need to contact.

I contacted them and it has stopped Poppy. My partner and I are both pensioners now. They said because I get my state pension we no longer qualify.

Hi @Mar I think you should call them and see what they. There's some information from the turn2us website on what you can get with SDP.  You may want to contact your local CAB for further advice. Please keep us posted.

Yes because poppy said she thinks because I have just got my pension it shouldn’t affect my SDP but apparently Pension Credit are saying no.

Pension credit is a means tested benefit, some will qualify for it, some won't it depends on your household income.

Here's a pension credit calculator which is worth putting your details into it, it will tell you if you still qualify.
