Equipment in the community - 4 wheeled walker

Hi, I have just been discharged from hospital. I was assessed to need a 4 wheeled walker/rollator frame for the beginning of stepping/walking. It arrived today. It is great the only thing is it is too low. I am 6ft 1 inches. I am very stooped over with it and it is hurting my back. They told me that one size fits all-but it doesn't-surely this is height discrimination-I can't help being tall!? Should they be able to provide a difference/taller one? Also what ones would people recommend?
Thank you for your help.

hdeakin   I always thought that these things were height adjustable....usually a case of pressing in a pin and moving each wheel. I'm 6ft tall and have no problems with mine.   One size fits all doesn't sound right at all.  Check out eBay or similar sites to see what's available if you decide to buy one.

@exdvr thank you. Yes we have adjusted it as high as it goes but it is still too low. What make is yours? Would you recommend it? Thanks

So sorry....it's the handlebars that are height adjustable, the wheels are fixed. I've attached an eBay link to something identical to mine.  You may be able to get some practical advice if you drop the shop an email.     Hope it's of some help to you..

Send them a email. Ask for advice and be open. We have had engineers come look at my son’s wheelchair and give me advice on how to deal with issues.

I imagine this cannot be helping your progress @hdeakin! Have you managed to ring someone? If you had a future appointment with a physio they may be able to help you regarding this - but you're right, you can't help being tall!

Hi @emmarenshaw nice to 'meet you' ? @Chloe_Scope I have spoken to the team that issued it again and found a helpful lady. They are looking into getting one that is tall enough for me. So sounds positive at the moment... But I have not got it yet! I am hoping it is not too good to be true! ??

Ah that sounds promising @hdeakin! I hope they are able to sort things out for you. How is the recovery going? It must be lovely to be back home again :)

Yes thank you @Chloe_Scope it is lovely to be back home ? and fingers crossed it gets sorted out! I have made a little progress since being home and managed to maintain the gains that I made which is good ? It is a long or never ending road... But as they say one step at a time! All the little steps add up ☺️
