Hi just wondering y when its a 4 or 5 week month do u get the same amount of money on UC..

Hi @char38. This is because it's worked out as a monthly average, rather than weekly like with legacy benefits.

Hello I think it works like this I get my rent paid £500 per month the council pays me £466 per month yet over the twelve month period it works out at £499 per month weekly rate times 52 divide by 12. This how most benefit are worked out if not happy ring DWP for a correct answer.0

You don't lose out as over the course of a year you get the right amount.
No months have exactly 4 or 5 weeks in them so they give you 4 and a bit weeks worth of money every month.
