Half price road tax!!

i was having a conversation with a family member and were discussing road tax. This person said as I get standard rate mobility I’m entitled to half price road tax. I need to complete a form and take it with we when I tax the car.
Has anyone else heard of this?
Maybe it’s about time we should be told of things we can claim for, I paid full road tax last year when I didn’t have too ?

You need to take all car and PIP documents to a post office to do it for the first time as it's a change of class.

For other members - it's 50% off for standard mobility and exempt for enhanced mobility.

The 50% vehicle tax reduction for standard rate Mobility PIP has to be done via post to DVLA - it cannot be done at a Post Office.

Ah yes! Sorry! I was looking at the Enhanced Mobility exemption.

Standard Mobility 50% discount is via post and Enhanced Exemption is at the Post Office.

Hello details about road tax reduction is enclosed in your award notification letter most people just read the actual award and the length of award plus the monetary side, money owed and what and when their regular payments will be. Also as a mobility awarded you can apply to your local issuing Blue badge authority getting the application form by telephone requests.

Not everyone who gets a PIP Mobility component will qualify for a Blue Badge. It depends which descriptor you were given for the two Mobility activities and where you live. More details can be found on gov.uk (click).

If you scored at least 8 points in the "moving around" part of mobility PIP then this automatically qualifies you for a blue badge. This is standard criteria across all local councils, in England.
