I've always liked "Theatre of blood" made in about 1973. It's quite funny in some parts but still a horror.

I like the old Hammer horror films from the 1960's and 70's.
I used to watch them when staying at my uncles house, I was quite young then.

Not really a horror film but so creepy......2001 A Space Odyssey, where the HAL 9000 computer starts killing off the crew members one by one........2

I can't say I have a favourite horror movie. If I enjoy them too much, they probably weren't doing their job!1 -
Another ...not a horror but it was scarey as a kid....The Forbidden Planet c1957 based on Shakespeares The Tempest......an earth craft is called to a planet where dr morbius has discovered an alien relic that enhances the mind.......but in do ing so it releases the monsters within the mind ....or Id..........you cannot see the monster but the heartbeat music and creepy electronic sounds makes this film great but scarey.0
