@Adrian_Scope and ,@Overlyanxious I may as well not put that i m gay,,,shows how shallow and homaphobic a group is!0

I've never really gotten into Bake Off, possibly because it reminds me just how bad a cook I am! I have heard some good things about Plebs though @OverlyAnxious, so I'll have to give it a try (next time I can wrest control of the remote
).
I agree with you about BGT @ash5896. It's a shame as we used to watch it as a family but we've all lost interest. I enjoy the odd game show as it's something we can all watch together, although it can get quite competitive now the kids are older and actually get some of the answers.
@andy7, sorry I've not replied until now, I've only just seen your post. It sounds like you've had a really difficult time and I can completely understand why you'd avoid potential triggers in programmes that feature murder and death. I'm sorry also that you've lost so many people you were close to and for the effect this has had on you. I know you've said you tried to get some mental health support to no avail, I was just wondering if you have any support at all any more?
My TV is currently playing "Alvinnn and the Chipmunks" in the background. I have to say I'm not very impressed. I remember it the first time around and I wasn't particularly keen then either. Somehow though the re-make is more annoying.

Sorry Andy, I just didn't know what to reply to your post...you've obviously had a tough few years but I'm terrible at serious conversations...Adrian has been able to reply far more appropriately than I could!andy7 said:@Adrian_Scope and ,@Overlyanxious I may as well not put that i m gay,,,shows how shallow and homaphobic a group is!
For what it's worth, it was nothing to do with you being gay at all, I went to my first pride march this year btw!

I can't bake at all and don't even really like sweet things lol! The thing with Bake Off is it's just really 'nice' if that makes sense, it's always upbeat and colourful and just generally a positive vibe for an evening! I also like the 'Extra Slice' spin off that they do on a Friday evening, often end up actually lol'ing at some of the public bakes on there!Adrian_Scope said:I've never really gotten into Bake Off, possibly because it reminds me just how bad a cook I am! I realised last night my actual guilty pleasure show of the moment is the new Supermarket Sweep! Again, it's all very positive and colourful etc...but it is all a bit ridiculous!

Tv that’s that quaintness of planning round others timetable- streaming all the way.
Live tv a relic of last century1 -
I must admit I don't really watch a lot of TV live other than sport and the ability to pause is a must.2

What sort of support are you looking for @andy7?0

Reality TV makes me rage as vain fake and generally vile characters, my partner enjoyed love island- if there had been a killer zombie virus or plague streamed live would have been only reason to watch.
Do people really act like that in real life as they’re horrible0 -
@Adrian_Scope..im looking for souding boads, empathey,,,i dont know really myself,,i cant get a cpn,,,im terified of people,,my tickers knackered n the stress affects my heart0

Hi @andy7. You sound like you're not in a great place at the moment. I know you said you can't get a CPN, but do you have any other support in place? As a pan-disability charity it's fair to say that our strengths lie in the daily lives of disabled people rather than supporting them with mental health, but if you are interested we'd be more than happy to try and find you some additional support if you're interested? Of course, if you find it easier to talk over the phone, you're always welcome to give our helpline a call on 0808 800 3333.

Have you tried Elefriends by MIND?andy7 said:@Adrian_Scope..im looking for souding boads, empathey,,,i dont know really myself,,i cant get a cpn,,,im terified of people,,my tickers knackered n the stress affects my heart
They don't offer any treatment advice but there's lot's of support and empathy on there so that might be good for you?
I was recommended it recently but it wasn't really helpful for me personally.
