Hi,Any pension you receive will affect any means tested benefits you claim. If you're claiming Contributions based benefits then any pension you receive that's more than £85 per week will affect your benefits 50p for every £1 over that amount.I note that you asked this question in March this year, did you get some advice as advised in your other thread? fee advice is available from pension wise https://www.pensionwise.gov.uk/en/benefitsMore advice here https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/debt-and-money/pensions/nearing-retirement/what-you-can-do-with-your-pension-pot/AgeUK is also a good place to ring https://www.ageuk.org.uk/

I have decided to sign off any means tested benefits and have a good couple of years while my wife is well enough to enjoy life

I just hope in a couple of years when I sign on again I wont fall foul of dwp for spending some money0

If you do this when the time comes for you to re-apply, if you're under state pension age then you will need to claim Universal Credit. This is also means tested and claiming this will depend on saviings/capital and household income.1965zulu said:I just hope in a couple of years when I sign on again I wont fall foul of dwp for spending some money
