New car!

I have just ordered my new Motability car - a Mini Cooper S in British Racing Green.
I also got the “Exclusive pack” which contains leather seats and a few other little things. I wasn’t going to go for this as it added £500 to the advance payment but the dealership offered to split the cost with me and charge £250, so I decided to get it.
The car should arrive within 10 days but with Christmas I am not really sure when to expect it. It should be here before the new year though!
I am very excited. Driving is my only way of getting about and cars and driving are my only real hobby - my life really - something I love doing.

Lovely car 66Mustang .....I hope you enjoy driving it , I certainly would . I thought the deal was pretty good . The last time I got a mobility car , the lady dealing with me said to the owner of the showroom , . ....Gerry is taking the car Mr showroom owner ...I,m sure you will send him a cheque for £50 .....which he did ( the car I got had nothing to pay up front ) ....although I only used it for appointments ect .and had a very very low mileage when I took it back after three years .
Safe and happy driving 66Mustang ?1 -
Thanks @Seanchai ! My mileage will be quite high by the end I think as I go about once a week to a specialist hospital which is a 100 mile round trip (someone else driving as I can’t do long distance motorway) but I guess that is the point of the car, to be used! I’m glad to have it as it will save the miles on the own car of the person which they used to take me to appointments in.1

Very nice car! I actually test drove the mini countryman and had it for 48 hour test drive when i was trying to decide which car to go for this time. It was a very very nice car but the only thing that let it down for me was i thought the steering was a little too heavy. I have multiple pain conditions and thought that having a car with slightly heavier steering would course me more pain, so in the end i reluctantly declined it for that reason but i love the car other than that. This mini is the same just smaller, very nice choice indeed. I'm sure you'll enjoy being the owner of that.In the end my choice was the Peugeot 3008 GT Line 1.5D auto. I collected mine almost 3 weeks ago and must admit i'm loving it! I can't help smiling when i'm sat behind the wheel and i can just imagine the smile on your face when you pick that car up and drive it out the showroom.5

Thanks poppy! The heavy steering is actually one of the reasons I liked the car as it gives me more confidence but I can totally understand that you didn’t get on with it with pain conditions - it is heavy even on the little 3 door so must be more so on the Countryman.
Nice choice of car there, they are really nice but I especially like them when I see them because the rear lights look a bit like Mustang lights! Hehe0 -
Lovely motor @66Mustang, Hope you have lots of fun with it. British Racing Green is the only true colour for a Cooper S.

HeheI actually asked the dealer about the heavy steering and he looked at me like i had horns on my head lol. The car itself was amazing though and the build quality was one of the best i've ever seen. I found the faster i drove the heavier it got. I was gutted because i had to reject it for that silly reason.Haha yes indeed the lights do look like that. Ultimate red with a black roof and it looks awesome. Can you tell i love my cars too? lol On a serious note, like yourself, i'd be housebound without my car.Happy motoring and enjoy every minute when you do collect it!1 -
Love this @66Mustang! I hope it's great to drive!

I like minis, never owned one but my aunt had one when I was a kid. I did have an old Hillman Imp once which was closest I got to a mini. British Racing Green is a lovely colour too. Congrats on her, shes a little beauty.1

Thanks Franstrahan.
Picked the car up today. It is fantastic. No pictures yet but I may take some tomorrow. It is very fast and handles brilliantly. Very comfortable. I was impressed with the speed of the whole transaction - 9 days, including weekends, from order to pick up! We have already taken it out to pick up the Christmas turkey and Boxing Day beef joint!!0 -
@66Mustang
Will look forward to some photos of her. My favourite car was my Citroen Berlingo, a real workhorse and very versatile. And a load carrier. Had her 18 years and in that time she carried many weird and wonderful things, including a swan.
Best looking car though was my old-style Ford Capri!2 -
I will hopefully take some tomorrow!
Yes the Berlingo is a great workhorse! And I agree the Capri is a great looking car! I really like those!
