Hi, will my pip be backdated to the start of my limited work capability start date? I have just completed my pip assessment and waiting on decision.

HI and welcome,No, i'm afraid not because PIP and limited capability for work are 2 completely different benefits, with completely different criteria. If this is a first time PIP claim and you're not transferring from DLA, if you're successfully awarded PIP then it will be backdated to the date you rang to start your claim. If you're transferring from DLA then there's no backdated money, it will start once your DLA has ended. As you've had the PIP assessment you can ring DWP to request a copy of the assessment report to be sent to you. This will give you some idea what the decision is likely to be because they mostly go with the report. Good luck.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
