Therapy Horses

I am starting therapy sessions with these, hopefully next week, or at least very soon. The horses help children and adults with autism. Dont know if all the centres nationwide are fully funded but this one I am going to is. I dont know if they help with depression and anxiety but I'm going to ask. I got the email from the company today, great timing, as I had just about given up finding any help and support. After contacting lots of organisations trying to get counselling for my problems, the horses came through! Couldn't be better as I'm a big animal lover, and this will probably work out better then having to deal with people (which I struggle with). Will update, once I get started, as to how things go. Really looking forward to it!

If I am allowed to take a photo of the horses would it be ok to post here? -
That's great Fran ....I hope all goes well for you . My grandson has severe autism and he loves horses and went horse riding with his school ....alas ...as a very small boy i went to clap a horse and it looked at me and gave a loud whinny and slobbered all over me ,i turned and ran , straight into a big metal clothes pole ...broke my nose . From then I have a fear of horses ( irrational , I know, as it was hardly the horses fault) I am a country boy brought up with animals , I love them all ....apart from horses . ???

@Seanchai
I've had very little experience with horses, the most being visiting a home for retired horses regularly with my parents when I was a kid. Remember a small pony in a corner stable with the warning sign, 'Dolly bites'.
I'm looking forward to meeting these horses. Suspect they will know what they're doing. I rode an ex-showjumper once called Catlow. Or I should say I sat on his back and went for a ride because I didnt have to do anything! Never ridden before or since. You probably know, you dont ride the therapy horses, to be honest I'm not sure how it works till I get there! -
My grandson used to ride them Fran ....although he is now quite heavy and unsure of horses.....Please let us know how it goes ? ?

I would love to hear more about this. How does the riding carry over after your rides?

@Chloe_Scope
I'm looking forward to the horses but cant say the same about tomorrow. Headache all day, guess due to tension. Be glad when it's over.
