Hi to you all.
Im receiving ESA support group along with housing benefit, my careers allowance is being deducted from both benefits, is this right that I lose the benefit twice? Any advice would be appreciated

HI and welcome,Carers allowance has nothing to do with your housing benefit. How much you're entitled to will depend on your circumstances. Do you rent from social housing or private landlord? If it's social housing and you have spare bedrooms then the bedroom tax will apply to you. If it's privately renting then your entitlement will be based on the amount of bedrooms you need and the local housing allowance rate for your area.0

Hi poppy123456 thank you for reply, I rent privately looking at local housing allowance for my area I’m receiving the correct allowance, I just did not understand why they use carers allowance in their calculations of capital.0

Sorry but i'm not understanding your question here. Carers allowance isn't classed as capital. It's a taxable benefit. If you're receiving the correct amount of housing benefit then i'm unsure exactly what your question is. How many bedrooms you're entitled to will depend on your circumstances.https://lha-direct.voa.gov.uk/

Hello janer1967 and thank you for your welcome, yes advice received from poppy123456 was helpful, not being on any benefits before I’m like a fish out of water, after revisiting and looking at my housing benefits (how they work out your benefit page) and although they use carers allowance in their money I have coming in calculations I’m receiving the correct amount of housing benefit for my circumstances
