Full time student with PiP

Hi guys 
I have tried trialling the internet but I'm just getting more confused. 
My son receives the higher rate PIP (living allowance) he is a full time A Level student and I was wondering if I could apply for ESA for him ? I have no idea about benefits and could do with any advice please ? 
I am getting made redundant from one of my jobs so things are going to be tighter as I will be down to one job.

HI,

New claims for Income related ESA are no longer possible and it will be Universal Credit he will need to claim. Whether he's entitled will depend on his circumstances. Age and whether he still lives at home etc.

If you still receive child tax credits and child benefit for him then these will both stop if he claims UC. It will also depend on whether he receives any student maintenance loans because these are counted as income when claiming UC because it's a means tested benefit.

More information is needed before advice can be given. If you're claiming tax credits then you'll need to report your reduced earnings to HMRC as well.

As poppy says more info is needed to advise on possible benefits, including:
What benefits are you currently claiming?
How many in the household - three?
Are you renting?
Etc

What will be your revised earnings?
If you are earning less than £123 pw Carers Allowance is a possibility.
