Dad's PIP was turned down. Hopping mad and super sad. I gave written the letter to ask to re-consider and attached a doctor's report that was written after our appointment. Just so fed-up.

Don't give up. Sometimes but not very often they overturn the decision with mandatory reconsideration. If they dont then move to the next stage. Read as much as you can from others who have been through it. There are many on "Benefits and Work" forum who have experience. There is a charge of less than £20 but well worth it. I have used it for my own PIP getting enhanced care and mobility and ESA twice in support group without a medical (ESA only). Good luck!0

This must be very frustrating @Sorry_Susan! Have you been able to submit a Mandatory Reconsideration letter? Please do let us know how you get on and if there is anything we can do to help.

I have submitted the Reconsideration letter within a week. It must have taken me 15 hours+ to draft and polish it.
My daughter's condition has also worsened significantly and I feel a bit like Sysiphus.
Trying to stay positive, but is sure is difficult.0 -
Speaking as someone who has had two successful reconsiderations, I will say try to be positive0

Just heard that they received our letter and the lead time is 10 weeks! Guess in this Covid19 crises it matters little as we are housebound in any case. Just difficult to keep spirits up. Thanks for encouraging words @worried330

Really hope it's a positive outcome for you @Sorry_Susan!

Had a call from DWP today. Enhanced rate for moving about and standard for daily living. I appealed but DWP made this offer before tribunal. Not bad considering we.scored zero after the initial assesment.3

That's good news @Sorry_Susan The MR was definitely worth it0
-
Amazing @Sorry_Susan! I'm glad you didn't have to go through with the tribunal. Are you happy with the outcome?

@Sorry_Susan so pleased for you , great news . x0

@Chloe_scope well pleased, will do a change of circumstances as soon as OT assesment is done.1

@Sorry_Susan Great news
Just wondered why you were doing a change of circumstances as this could risk what you have just been awarded0 -
.@janer1967
She should qualify for full daily living allowance as well but we are waiting for an OT assesment visit at home. Lady at PIP said that we have to take their offer or leave it and go to tribunal. They are not prepared to wait another week for the OT assesment report to see if it will affect their offer.

Hi @Sorry_Susan - about the DWP's 'offer,' please read this thread on the same subject. Certainly consider this post before putting in for a change of circumstances. Please see: https://community.scope.org.uk/discussion/72633/dwp-made-an-offer?_ga=2.26657531.756640953.1594920585-462006494.1594920585Hope this helps.
