2 weeks ago i fell very badly and landed on the top of my back. I winded myself and was in instant agony.  Gradually the pain has eased through the daytime hours when im walking about but every single night i was up at 2am in excruciating pain. It feels like someone is gripping one of my high up spine joints and twisting and pulling it. It is paralysing and i just cant remain in bed i have to get up and sit for hours. It feels like my back is broken and the pain is just the worst and takes my breath out of me.  Can anyone tell me why this is? Is it normal part of recovering from a back injury or should i be concerned. Im so tired.

Hi @Dario82 - I wish I had an answer, but we're not medically qualified so couldn't advise. I know it's very difficult at this time, but I suggest you ring your GP, to see what they say. Please do let us all know how you get on, & if we can help/support you in any other way. Take care. :)

Hello @Dario82. Has the pain been easing any? As Chiarieds mentioned it would be worth getting in touch with your GP to see what they say.

I eventually went to A&E and had a scan - i have a wedge fracture of one of my vertebrae.  Still in a lot of pain but i dont need surgery at this stage just need to rest up.

I'm glad you got to the bottom of it and that you don't need surgery at this point @Dario82. Are you managing to get much rest?

    Hi @Dario82,

We have some advice here about managing pain in lockdown, but I've also seen these leaflets from Live Well with Pain recommended for sleep.
