@66Mustang Where could I find out? Probably is old, my friend didn't drink Cognac and was given it as a gift. His wife doesn't remember when he got it. Sadly, he's no longer with us. I wouldn't want to crack open a bottle of something collectable. I wouldn't keep it myself if it's of any value but I could swap it for something non collectable :-:smile:66Mustang said:True
@cartha not 100% sure but that looks like an old bottle as it’s got the quantity in ounces and is 68cl not 70cl. It may be worth something if you don’t crack it open as people like to collect old bottles of spirits!
To continue the game:
True but only very briefly. I signed up to a good deal but they over filled the hall so we could hardly move and I stopped going.

@cartha
Looks rather like this one from the 1970s https://www.thewhiskyexchange.com/p/13700/martell-vs-3-stars-cognac-bot1970s
A spirits store like the one I linked may give you tens of pounds for it - maybe £40-70? That way you could, like you say, buy something non vintage but quite nice indeed that you wouldn’t feel guilty cracking open. Without wanting to be rude Martell VS is a standard cognac but that bottle is special because of its age so if you are just interested in the taste I would definitely swap it - unless it has sentimental value!
Anyway true so far but it’s just the morning!
