I'm not sure what the purpose of this site is but thought I'd introduce myself
My name is Jordan I'm a 29 year old female and I have cerebral palsy I've faced a lot of struggles throughout my life. I am not saying no one else has struggles.
I am sadly unemployed despite looking for a job for 6+ years maybe longer. I use a wheelchair. I feel I don't have any friends.
My interests are watching Netflix listening to music, arts and crafts, reading manga playing computer games and penpalling.
I have been isolating since the outbreak of the virus in March and its been one of the hardest things in my life and I'm feeling lonely to say the least.

Hi @JordyHawkes9 - Welcome to this online community, which is for people with disabilities (or they might have an affected relative). It's here to provide info, but, even more importantly, help & support. Scope (under a different name) actually started as a charity to help people with Cerebral Palsy. There's some general info on Scope here: https://www.scope.org.uk/about-us/Many people have felt lonely, or joined for other reasons during this pandemic. I hope you find it a good place to be, with friendly, understanding members. You might like to try our virtual 'Coffee lounge,' where there are discussions which include you interests. If you have any queries about CP, we have a CP Specialist Officer, who is always willing to help/offer insight.

Hi @JordyHawkes9 and a very warm welcome to the community! Great to have you here.
The online community strives to support disabled people and allow people to make friends and socialise with like-minded individuals.
We have quite a lot of members with CP, myself included!
You can have a chat in our coffee lounge with other members. We talk about art, video games, TV and anything else you can think of!
If there is anything we can do to help then please give us a shout.Scope -

Great to have you here @JordyHawkes9. I think really the community is whatever you need it to be. For some it's a great source of advice and for others it's the only place they can regularly connect with real people. Whatever we end up being for you, I hope you stick around and give it a go. We're a friendly bunch!
I don't know if you've tried them at all, but we also have a range of free employment services too that might be of use to you. And as mentioned above, @Richard_Scope is our resident CP information officer and always happy to have a chat.Community Manager

Lockdown has been a very testing time, hasn't it? How are you feeling about everything opening up?

Honestly I am scared as people don't seem to be taking this seriously

Hi @JordyHawkes9
Good Afternoon my friend.
Sorry but what are you scared off???
Please let me know if
you need any help/support?????
@steve51 -
I share your concerns @JordyHawkes. It feel like many stopped bothering with guidelines quite some time ago and there's now quite a bit of pressure on those of us who are still being cautious to get back to normal ASAP.Community Manager

I feel like that too, @JordyHawkes9. It appears to me that with things being eased people are assuming the virus has gone.

@Adrian_Scope that's exactly what I mean. People are selfish and ignorant. It is so unfair.
-
@steve51 I am scared of going out again and acting like everything is 'normal' and people not following social distancing rules when other people are trying their upmost best to follow guidelines provided by the government.
