If my my friends child who is  17 claims careers allowance for looking after grandad an is in education 20 hours a week does it affect the benefits her parents recieve fir the child which are  child tax credits an child benefit

    I note that the child is still a student, Although you stated that they are only doing 20 hours per week this is classed as full time education because the parents are still claiming tax credits and child benefit for them.     Sorry i confirmed lesson hours she does a week are 16 hours an 45 min only so thats about 17 hours education

    Yes, but it's classed as full time education because the parents are still claiming child tax credits and child benefit and for this it's full time education. See link above.
