Beekeeping with a disability

Hi everyone
I have always wanted to keep bees and thought that due to my disability it was now not possible.
Last year we decided to go for it and with help I built a Top Bar hive as they are more accessible and don't involve the heavy lifting that the standard hives do.
In May I got a swarm and they were put into the hive and it has been an amazing year.
Here is a video of my latest hive inspection https://youtu.be/FcAhFPdc49o and you can read more here about the build and how I started!

Thank you so much for the post, what an interesting topic! I'm delighted you were able to overcome the barriers to fulfil your ambition of bee keeping :)

The video is lovely as well, thanks for sharing.

What's your favourite thing about doing it?

This is fantastic! Bees are absolutely vital for maintaining our food supply and other things besides. I'm all for anything that helps these amazing creatures.

I am trying to look into getting Leaf Bees (I am not Physically disabled) but people keep saying they are too dangerous?
