    Hi and welcome,

Lots of adjustments can be made but it will depend on the individual disability. https://www.gov.uk/reasonable-adjustments-for-disabled-workers

Hi @Lindaj1973 - & welcome to the community. Scope also has some info on 'Reasonable adjustments.' See: https://www.scope.org.uk/advice-and-support/reasonable-adjustments-at-work/#Reasonable-adjustments-at-work
Hope this may also help. :)

    Hi and welcome

Having been a HR manager in retail for 30 years some of the common adjustments were

    Reduced hours
    Only working certain shifts
Reduced duties eg no heavy lifting
    Only working on certain tasks
    Taking more breaks
    Use of aids

As said above it depends on disability and employer

It is advisable to have OH referral so they can recommend adjustments required

Welcome to the community @Lindaj1973, great question :) Are you currently struggling to get reasonable adjustments in place?

Ross_scope, yes I've asked for a seat and a raised seat for staff toilet, been refused both.

    Hi @Lindaj1973

I'm sorry your employers haven't been willing to provide the reasonable adjustments you need :(  That must have been difficult to deal with.  Are you managing to work without them?

Scope have a webpage about what to do if your employer rejects adjustments that is worth a read.  It describes the process you need to follow to challenge the decision and provides template letters to use if necessary.

I hope your employers reconsider the decision and you have some positive news soon.  Please keep us updated and ask any more questions you have.  Good luck.
