Mince pies - yey or nay?

Yesterday I had my first mince pie of the year which was an absolute beauty with lush pastry and brandy butter inside.

This got me thinking, do our community members love them as much as me?  Let me know by answering the poll  :) 

Also, tell me in the comments:  if you've had your first mince pie yet?  If you bake them? and lastly, what's your favourite mince pie accompaniment is.

    @janer1967 @RAwarrior What sweet treat do you prefer in the run up to Christmas then?  Panettone? Chocolate log?

    I dont like dried fruit so mince pies christmas cake christmas pudding stollen are all out for me 

    I'm not a big sweet tooth but I like baklava which aldi normally have some bite size ones in at Christmas

    I used to make my own mincemeat, then make pastry from scratch too, tho I have also bought mincemeat. Now I'm on my own, I don't bother, nor do I any longer make a Christmas cake (have never liked Christmas pudding so never attempted that).
    I don't eat sweet food now, so altho I do like mince pies, I won't be buying any, sorry.  :/

    Mince pies in November!?  Might as well start draping tinsel over the pumpkins...  :p

    I don't mind them, but certainly can't say I love them lol.  I don't buy any until at least December though!  I also tend to buy some fondant fancies, saw an Irish Cream (Baileys) version last year which were quite nice.

    I don't enjoy them, but it does feel like a Christmas tradition to force myself to have at least one.

    Irish Cream fondant fancies @OverlyAnxious :o Now that's what I'm talking about!

    I had my first mince pie a couple of weeks ago. I love them with custard. (hate brandy cream and brandy butter). Iceland make great mince pies!

    Eeew, no thank you. This includes Christmas cake and pudding. I can't stand dried fruit. I remember a time many years ago when i went to visit a relative near Christmas. They asked me if i would like a piece of cake, without asking what cake it was i just replied "yes please." Then i realised it was Christmas cake but because i didn't want to hurt their feelings i just sat and ate it....slowly. -shivers- yuck disgusting.
