Hi there I'm an adult who only just found out about my childhood diagnosis of CP a lot of my life I wondered what was up with me now knowing this things are making a bit more sense but as my deceased mother took this all medical information to her grave & growing up in Africa not sure much of my childhood medical records remain & I'm only finding out now due to health going down and wanted to join group of people going through similar challenges in adult life and find out what support is there in Northern Ireland

Hi @JessieCP and welcome to our online community
Wow, that news must have come as both a bit of a shock and relief.
We have a chat group dedicated to all things Cerebral Palsy where our members share stories and tips on managing symptoms.
We also have an online chat cafe here on the online community for people aged 20 plus with CP. Visit this webpage for more details.
Also, have you spoken with your GP about the diagnosis and what could help? They would be able to direct you to more local support.
I'm sure our more Cerebral palsy knowledgeable people will talk to you soon, but in the mean-time I wanted to say hello and wish you wellTake care.

Hello @JessieCP and welcome to the community

Hi @JessieCP
Good to meet you.
I live with CP and I'm more than happy to have any questions you may have. I have come across situations similar to yours quite a few times, especially where the CP is 'mild', some families still feel embarrassment in talking about disability.
The Northern Ireland CP register are keen to hear from people with CP. What area do you live in? I can try to find more localised services for you.
I f you need to talk thing through with somebody who understands please let me know and I'll be happy to help as much as I can.
