Hi I'm Helen, parent of one boy who is 8 and has additional needs. He currently goes to a specialist school after 4 years in mainstream, with each year getting worse for him with the additional pressure. Currently tho, with the EHCP and new school he is managing to complete his work, which he was refused to even attempt last year, so I'm super pleased. Recently had 6 navigate sessions which were great. Its nice to meet everyone ?. I do often have to deal with challenging or difficult situations so happy to have support.

It's good to see you start another thread @Helen222 :) I'm so glad that the EHCP and specialist school are helping! That must be such a relief. I'm sure he'll continue to flourish as time goes on.

I'm also really glad that you found the Navigate sessions great :) They're a lovely team.

Many of our parents have faced similar challenges to you, so I'm sure they'd be interesting in hearing more about your experiences.

Hi @Helen222. Really good to hear you're getting the right support through the EHCP and new school.

Navigate are brilliant and help so many parents. If you do need any further support now your Navigate program has ended, then you would be more than welcome on our Parents Connect course, which puts you in touch with other parents of children with needs, as well as helping through those challenges.

You can find us here: https://www.scope.org.uk/family-services/parents-connect/ or you can email parentsconnect@scope.org.uk

    Take care
