Problems with the Forums

There seems to be some problems with the forums over the last few days. Threads not bumping properly and notifications are going crazy. 

I'm getting long lists of notifications suddenly coming through in large batches and I am getting the same promotion notification every few minutes

@BrettW I have noticed that its either no notifications or lots comeing in together I thought it was my Internet signal lol ?

Thank you for raising this @BrettW. I believe the issue with threads not bumping properly has now been resolved, but if you see it anymore please let me know. This might be why you're suddenly getting batches of notifications for these threads, but if this continues to happen please give us a nudge. Any evidence you can provide us in terms of screenshots, etc. is really useful here.

@Adrian_Scope the promotion notification problem is still ongoing Adrian I've just got another one - its been going on for over 24 hours now. I've had to turn off email notifications because it was filling my inbox up with the same message about being promoted

I was getting both but I had to turn off the email notifications because it was constantly emailing me that damn promotion notification all the time. I know my memory aint as good as it was but I dont need reminding that many times I've been promoted lol

If anyone else is receiving the same notifications over and over again, please let me know. In the meantime, you can adjust your notifications in your notification settings.

I'm still getting the repeated promotion notification @Adrian_Scope. In fact I just got another one at the same time I got a notification you'd posted on this thread again

So, to be clear - you're getting notifications of replies as well as notifications related to 'promotions'?
Apologies if that seems like a stupid question, but it helps to have as much clarity for our platform providers.

@Adrian_Scope The notifications of replies seem to be coming through normally although sometimes they come in batches rather than when the person actually responds. The promotion notification on the other hand seems to just keep repeating at random times. Last night for example I got it twice only a minute apart.

Think I've had it 4 or 5 times already this morning

I must say that I actually like the layout of this forum.
i also like the moderators, they come across as very caring people and full of good intention. (I know , no one has said any differently.)

just thought id make some positive comments about the forum because generally speaking I like it a lot. I also assume others do too because some people spend a great deal of time on here. 

I hope no one is offended by this post. ?
