Hello,

My older sister is 43 and has severe cerebral palsy she’s non verbal has lots of other issues. My parents are pretty concerned they haven’t had a vaccine date yet? I think they are worried because they have been very let down by their gp over the years so their confidence has been shaken.. I think even if they knew which group Lucy would be in it would help.. Thank you in advance ☺️

Hi @lucyssister87
Thanks for posting.
Most people living with CP will be number 6 on the vaccine rollout list. Unless they have additional issues such as respiratory or swallowing (dysphagia) difficulties.

Thank you very much Richard for getting back to me.. I did the online calculator and that’s the group that Lucy fell under! I guess we hoped it would be sooner.. Our parents are 70 and will receive the vaccine first and they were fretting that Lucy should be done before them! She spends half the time in respite these days as she’s getting more difficult for my mum to care for! I didn’t know if that would make a difference.. Thank you again I’ve passed your message on to them! Trying to convince them to join this online community... Think it would be massively beneficial

They would be very welcome! I'm patiently waiting for my vaccination too. I'm not 100% sure about the respite situation. I would hazard a guess that because your sister is not a full-time resident then she would not be vaccinated in that group of people. Have your parents had any information from the respite provider?Scope
