@Ada
Im not to sure but I think the first place to phone would be Glasgow City Council for advice, there used to be a place called The Hamish Allan Centre where you could walk in and speak to someone this is were you presented if you were homeless.
I looked it up there and it’s been closed for a few years. 😊1 -
5% increase from next month isn’t there?1

I miss Glasgow @Lou67 Need to go back up and meet old friends sometime. You talking about the rent reminded me how much cheaper the rent is compared to down south
@66Mustang As someone who also prefers the cold, I am also happy about the hopefully lower energy prices. I'll take that any day over more cold.3 -
Ah I see let’s hope so,I’ll be submitting gas & leccy reading tomorrow so will see what this month’s bill be,dreading it as heating as been on quite a lot this month.2

@Jimm_Scope I was going to mention property prices down here but didn't want to!!!
It's not uncommon here for a couple to live together, and one salary goes entirely on the rent or mortgage.
We really want to move up to Yorkshire some time in the future, but we currently have too many family ties and responsibilities down here to be able to leave. We have looked though and for our fairly ordinary 3-bedroom house down south could get some sort of detached farm house with a some land for the dog in Yorkshire.1 -
@Lou67 I attended Glasgow Uni for a few years. I lived in Glasgow about 4-5 years, Falkirk a few years beforehand too.
I was a westender, loved the west end. Posh I know (for Glasgow anyway).
@66Mustang tell me about it! Admittedly me and the partner live in a fairly alright house, but it's definitely tighter than living in Glasgow. It's a shame there's just far more jobs down here, even with WFH being more common it still limits your options of a new job.3 -

Thanks Sandy yes I was really wanting to get a walk today, that was 2 days it was to wild to go out.The weathers wild again I can hear the wind howling.
Makes me so grateful to have a roof over my head.

@Lou67
I think even ignoring the cheaper houses I prefer the North people just seem more friendly
People down south are friendly, like when you go for a walk maybe 75% of walkers say hi
But up North it seems almost everyone is friendly even in the towns2 -
