    Does anyone have recommendations which bailey's to buy to make Irish coffee? Want to buy it for an Irish coffee lover, for Xmas. Looked at Irish whiskey and it's very expensive. @66Mustang your good with drinks knowledge

    Afternoon all, just had a day of pottering, sorted a few Christmas presents and started my list of what to get people, that's half the battle for me.
    What great news for a Monday @Sandy_123 x

    @Sandy_123

    You can add Bailey's to coffee but I don't think thats a true Irish coffee as Baileys is a whiskey liqueur not a pure whiskey - I think you need actual whiskey if you want to make a "proper" Irish coffee.

    I might be wrong but that is what I always thought was the case.

    What is your budget? You can get a bottle of Jameson's for around £17 when it is on offer. Or of course you could get a small bottle of something a bit nicer - quality not quantity and all that.

    I will be honest I don't know much about Irish whiskey at all, I stick to Scotch and only recently tried Japanese. :D:D

    Your right @66Mustang you would normally use a whisky for Irish coffee @Sandy_123 but i like Bailey's (original) in coffee or hot chocolate, nice warming drink ha ha x

    Bailey's does use Irish whiskey but it it's a liqueur as it has cream and other things added to the whiskey.

    I am sure the recipient would be pleased with either!! :)

    I would anyway :D

    Yeah @66Mustang I guess it saves having to buy cream seperate. So that's 1 gift sorted.

    Yep @Sandy_123 Baileys is already mixed bab, you would have it like milk with coffee not a liquor/floater coffee, it doesn't have to be Irish whiskey Sandy "sorry if i have offended" depends on your budget.
    Hi @Teddybear12 hope your well.
    I have lost a post @Ada i did say i hope you feel good after doing some gardening darling xx

    What a flipping night - did you all get that storm ??? The rain and wind was horrific and the leak in the roof, that hubby thought he'd sorted mmmmmmmmmm no chance!!
    Of to see the father in law today in the nursing home.

    I know what you mean @Ada about when we do some work in our gardens, we suffer the cause, but at the moment I wouldn't be without our garden, I love lilies, such a pretty flower and some of the smells. Hope your well this morning xx
