My mother was always wiping the washing line and she was obsessed with ironing.
I remember watching a quiz show with her once and one of the questions was 'Name something you don't iron'.
Every single thing the contestants mentioned had my mother screaming "Oh but you doooooo."

Haha @teigr can imagine, but moms didn't go out to work those days, so they could iron everything and cook proper foods. Still made us girls do chores tho, mine was polishing and she had like a 100 figurines to polish under, hated them, I won't have them in my house0

Wasn't even a disagreement on my end to be honest, just trying to articulate that affording hobbies is a thing, I guess. But being called unkind, that's not something I appreciate. I was not unkind. And I do mean the way people take things isn't our responsibility. We can only be honest and unfortunately text does not convey tone, but it isn't my responsibility to mediate how someone takes something I've said. I didn't express it unkindly I don't think. I also think I've responded to the wrong comment, oops. Happens sometimes. Still I would rather not be somewhere where my character is called into question because I didn't react accordingly or whatever. I do appreciate you and @Sandy_123's support though.Teddybear12 said:Hi @66Mustang Please do not stress we all disagree from time to time. We also all have different hobbies. Will chat later. Take care.1 -
Hi @Sandy yep i'm good thanks, hope all's good in your part of the world.
All i'm going to say to @JoOfVengerberg and @66Mustang you are both loved people on this forum - so please both of you draw a line under your misunderstanding, no blames etc, do not make it awkward for either of you to start a chat. Hugs of me to you both xx0 -
@Sandy_123 and @Teigr your chat about ironing has reminded me of when i first got married, i used to iron everything ha ha that soon went out the window, i even used to polish the old black system on our toilet, in our little council flat ha ha.
Sorry to hear you had a funeral today @Teddybear12 that was very kind to think of your friend like that darling. xx0 -
My mother always had part time jobs @Sandy_123,usually cleaning in schools.
It meant she wasn't home when I got in from school so I had to cook tea for my father and younger sister.

I never iron anything! Not worth it imo. I doubt people even notice most of the time.Teigr said:I hate ironing shirts,I left three of them in the basket.
I had to give up ironing years ago. I don't buy gear that need it. Or I dry it carefully. Would be different if I worked. And I would have been in better health to do it
