I'm so sorry that you've picked up on the people trying to help you as adversarial, when all they're trying to do is help @Whymeiwonder2 - also perhaps your payment is delayed due to the bank holiday, so hopefully paid tomorrow.

I'm not a political animal, tho appreciate your concerns. I do feel it's incredibly helpful to have all support here, including any benefits advice. No-one here is happy if anyone doesn't get the help they need.

I don't often comment on this thread, but do so when I see someone has misinterpreted something or is unhappy. This forum matters enormously to me, & it saddens me when I see any discord as everyone here is truly supportive.

Hope everyone has a nice bank holiday weekend! I ended up spending time with my grandparents in Wales. Ventured over to Cardiff's New Theatre to see The King & I. Was a brilliant production if anyone has a chance to see it whilst it's still touring the UK, I highly recommend it!

@Whymeiwonder2 When you said your wife has had no pay rise, are they still keeping in line with the National Minimum wage?

Oh good they are keeping in line, when you said she hadn't had a wage rise I thought they hadn't adhered to that. 

It's become a theme for many businesses, to pay slightly above minimum wage and justify no pay rises, bonuses or have other benefits.

@Lou67  my day has been ok. Been to work then took the three dogs out before taking my sons back to him at 4pm. Just checked on my mum , so now I can chill till the morning x
