Extra PIP points for support

There was a news story about a change in the law about needing support for social interactions. I've definitely always needed that for all the time I've been on pip so I think I would qualify.
I rang the DWP a couple months ago and they could only tell me that they are looking at cases.
Has anyone dealt with this and had they ring them to tell anything?
Many thanks in advance.

Hi there
Nor dealt with this myself but after reading here lots times they will contact you if affected
You will only be contact if the additional points would result in a higher award egno award to standard or standard to enhanced
Also only for claims decided within certain dates
Hope this helps -
Hi @mazzy88 - & welcome to the community. The change in law you refer to is for those people where their PIP decision was made between 6 April 2016 & 17 September 2020 & where, as Jane says, potentially points should have been awarded & it would have made a difference in gaining, or increasing, an existing award. The DWP will be checking through such decisions, & will contact you if affected. There's some info here which explains further here:

I've had reassessment and won a mandatory reconsideration in that time, and would be in line for a higher award with those extra points.
Thanks for your help. -
You're welcome @mazzy88

Good luck @mazzy88 - please let us know how you get on.
Just to update you too, I've budged this thread over to our PIP, DLA and AA category so it's in a good spot for others to see who might have the same question.
