Hi @Abygail
Welcome to the community.
It might help if you provide a few more details about your situation. Are you moving to the UK from another country, or are you returning to the UK? Have you already had a look at schools in the area you're moving to? Is your son currently at school? Does your son have an Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP)?
We have an information page on SEN schools, which you might like to read.0 -
Thank you, we will be moving into the U.K. from Kuwait and will new to the entire system. My son is 9 years old, completed Grade 3. He has learning/focus issues, needs special attention from his teachers. Thanks for the SEN page/info., will read through.0

Hi @Abygail and welcome to our online community, I hope your move to the UK goes smoothly
In addition to the above, Scope's webpage on Extra SEN support is useful as it outlines what is available in England and how to access it. While you might also find it handy to have contact details for organisations who specialise in SEN over here too. They are:
These webpages take you straight to respective contact pages. As for time-lines as to how long the process could take, this would be very dependent on the school/area you're moving to, any covid-19 backlogs and input from various parties, so we wouldn't be able to advise on that. However, feel free to get in touch with the SEN organisations above as they will have particular knowledge/expertise in this area
Good luck and please let us know how you get on.0
