Hi there,
I am mummy to two lovely boys, one of whom is autistic and the other is a rumbly tumbly adventurer. I am here to learn how to look after my boys and myself. In particular, helping my son to learn and look after himself. I just need a lot of sleep and probably a weekend away.
My husband (their daddy) is struggling with our children and has a very bad relationship with our autistic son. I am looking for advice here too.
I am also here to offer support to others. We all need a cheerleading team now and again :-)

    Hello @MrsRFW

Welcome to the community and thank you for introducing yourself.

Have you spoken about your concerns with your GP to see if they have any suggestions? Is your child getting all the support he needs?

The National Autistic Society (NAS) have a parent to parent peer support scheme that you might be interested in, and I'm sure you'll also gain super support and friendly advice on this community :)

@Ross_Scope Thanks for the NAS suggestion, I will look at that. I am also going to recommend the Dad's group by Scope.

Our son is a gem. He is thoughtful, gives me flowers, hugs however has a need to wake up at early o'clock and really does not like it if Daddy brings him breakfast (bowls are hurled across the room by our son in response). I am trying to get them to work together although Daddy does have a bit to do to keep calm and manage his expectations.
