I have been dealing with this for about 3 years now and I can't take it anymore.
SYMPTOMS: painful throat irritation, making it hard to swallow and talk, feels dry and very irritated. Made MUCH worse if I have even one cigarette or any tobacco product like chew. I also seem to have a white film on my tongue if I don't scrape/brush it all least once a day.
CONDITIONS DIAGNOSED: I have had numerous blood work tests done, I have Epstein-barr, and usually a wbc count on the low end.
MEDICATIONS: in the past I have taken oral thrush mouth washes and I am currently taking daily allergy pills which seem to help.

Hi @enoughAlready welcome, sorry to read your having difficulties with a diagnosis, must be frustrating. Have you been referred to ENT if not ask gp for a referral, if you have then ask gp for further investigations, hopefully you can get to the bottom of it.0

@Sandy_123, thanks for your reply. I have seen an ENT, they did the little camera down the nose into the throat. No definitive answer though just that it was in deed irritated. I am scheduled to see another one.0

Hi @enoughAlready and a warm welcome to our community, I'm glad you found us and I hope we can help.
Those symptoms sound understandably distressing and having an undiagnosed chronic condition can be particularly exhausting I know. Just to clarify, has your doctor referred you to a specialist team i.e. the ENT department at your local hospital? Also, how is this impacting you emotionally? Do you feel you have enough support?
Unfortunately, as we're not medically qualified we wouldn't be in a position to offer specialist advice about what might be going on, although other members would be able to share similar experiences. Also, I'd really be inclined to contact your GP again to explain how this is affecting your daily life and what in particular your struggles are. It's good to know the allergy pills are helping but maybe there are other options as yet unexplored?
Thank you for sharing your situation with us and I have everything crossed for you going forwards.0 -
