Hi I’m claiming UC with carers element for my disabled child. I have just been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Regarding claiming LCWAC will I have the 3 month wait?

I'm sorry to read about your diagnosis and hope you are getting the support you need for that. If you go over on Google to www.gov.co.uk it should have information about that on there for lcwac -

If you are expecting chemotherapy then the UC50 health form should be issued immediately and when you complete the form, if cancer is your only health condition, you can skip most of the questions but need to get the Cancer Treatment page completed by a clinician. You should then be treated as having LCWRA without further assessment but you will still only be paid the LCWRA element from the fourth complete assessment period after you report the health condition.
Note that when the LCWRA element goes into payment you will no longer be paid the carer element.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK. -
