My pip claim ran out on the 29/04/21 I had to make a new claim as my old claim went to tribunal and because of that they couldn’t renew my claim so I had to do a new claim I got paid right up to the 29th while I done my application and had my medical done over the phone I’m now waiting for a decision my question is will I get a backdated payment from the day I did my application or will it be backdated from my last payment on the 29/04/21

It will be from the day you rang up and started the application process.

No I already had pip but it came to an end they couldn’t renew it because it got awarded at tribunal so they had to make it as a new claim I filled everything out about two months ag and my claim ended on the 29th just wondering if I would get a back dated payment from when they gave me the new application or would it be backdated from the 29th wich is my last payment I had

I’m not 100% sure as you say it ended 29th April but put the forms in 2 months ago. Is that correct?
-
Yes I already had pip which got awarded by tribunal 2 years ago now it’s ended I had to fill out a new form as it is a new claim I got the form sent out in February and I got a letter stating my claim will end on 29/04/21 I spoke to the Dwp and asked why they couldn’t just renew it they said they couldn’t as it was awarded at tribunal it has to be treated as a new claim

Then I’m not 100% sure if it’s backdated fo when you sent the forms or when PIP ended after the original award.I’m sure others will clarify.

I think this may be a situation which depends on what the new decision is.
if the new award is higher than the old award it will, I think, be backdated to the date of claim which means that you would be due arrears of the difference between the old and new awards.
if the new award is the same as or lower than the old award it will start from when the old one ended.
However I’m not 100% sure either.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK. -
Ok thanks that’s what I was thinking
