Drumming and the Disabled

Hi everyone,
I am a college student living in England, who is looking forward to introducing two new products to the music world. Those would be
A)Unbreakable drumsticks, and
B)Drumming gloves for those with disabilities.
While the first concept remains in the realm of possibility, the second product, as far as its construction is concerned, seems to be more elusive.
I'm wondering if anyone on this site can share their thoughts about the inventions listed above. What would an innovative drumming glove look like, and how would it help someone with, for example, cerebral palsy? In that instance, what's to help that student hold the stick correctly so that they have a productive and fun experience, instead of a bad one?
Any input is welcome.
Thanks,
Adam

Hi @goldman_adam and welcome to our online community. How are you doing today?
Are you researching this for a college project and would you be using the comments received on this thread in your study? If so, please send us an email to community@scope.org.uk so we can run through some details to check our members' data would be kept safe.
If it's a personal ambition, well done you. Unfortunately, I don't have a musical bone in my body so am unable to offer any constructive feedback but perhaps @Richard_Scope - our CP information specialist - might have some ideas to give when he's next on the community
I've moved this thread to our News and opportunities category, which is our home for all research-y requests and wish you well with your design planning. Good luck

Hi @goldman_adam
We have a whole thread on CP and drumming, which you might find helpful. Also, there is a good website called Drummers Only, which may be a good starting point.0 -
Hi Cher,
At the moment I am researching for a college project, about how people with hand disabilities can hold onto drumsticks, and then play with them. I would very much like to use comments of other people and at the moment, I have not used anybodys scope name. The project is due to be turned in on 4th June, 2021. I am also sending you an email at Community@scope.org.uk.
I noticed that you have moved this thread to Scope's News and Opportunities category.
Thanks for your help.0 -
