Contesting mobility fraction of PIP.

I have been receiving PIP since I was migrated from DLA. On DLA I received high rate care and low rate mobility. On PIP I only receive high rate care. My question is, if I contest the fact that I should receive at least some portion of mobility, will they also reassess my complete claim? I know how difficult it is to secure PIP so I haven't had the confidence to rock the boat up until now. For reference my twin brother who has exactly the same disability gets PIP in full.

DLA & PIP have different criteria, so it doesn't necessarily mean you would get a 'similar' award with PIP, which is less about your diagnosi, rather your functional ability. You can put a Mandatory Reconsideration in writing, but first please have a look at the descriptors used in PIP to see if you might get sufficient points to be awarded the mobility component. See: https://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/asset-library/Personal-Independence-Payment-Descriptors-and-Scores-April-2021.pdf
Most MRs stay the same, & altho your whole award would be looked at again, it's rare for anyone to then get a lower award.

You're most welcome @Tomba26434 - & my best wishes if you decide to proceed with a MR. There's a form here you can use: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/683380/if-you-disagree-with-a-decision-made-by-dwp.PDF tho you can just write a letter asking them to look at your PIP decision again. If you do the latter, make sure you put your name & National Insurance number on each page. Concentrate on where you should have got points, & why. Try & give a couple of detailed real life examples as to your mobility difficulties as they were at the time of your assessment, e.g. when did it happen, what happened, why, who witnessed it, & what consequences, if any, resulted from this. Also you will note, if you read the notes at the end of the link above, could you do the activity 'reliably' i.e. safely, to an acceptable standard, as often as you'd like, or in a reasonable period of time. Hope some of this helps, but do come back with any questions.2
