I didn't mention my hospital stay to the DWP 2 years ago. What might happen if I tell them now?

Hi I would like to know what will happen if I don’t inform DWP!!!!????? And what will happen if I do inform them, and they turn around and they say ‘ why didn’t I infôrm them when I first went hospital?’ Or ‘ why are you informing us after your accident 2 years ago!!!!????

Hi, perhaps nothing would happen, but, if it came to light, it would be considered 'benefit fraud.' Please see: https://www.gov.uk/benefit-fraud If you report this, then all you can do is say honestly, as you have done here, why it wasn't reported earlier (if they even ask). You may have to pay a £50 fine for not reporting this earlier as a previous link I gave mentions (but I don't know if this would be enforced). See: https://www.gov.uk/report-benefits-change-circumstancesThe decision is yours, but, as the saying goes, 'better late than never.' I just thought it would stop you worrying with having this hanging over you.1
