On the contrary.chelss said:My daughters just been awarded dla high care component does this now mean my payments will reduce with uc
The DLA is ignored as income but you should inform UC, by reporting change in your UC journal, and will be entitled, in addition to the child element you already receive, to the severely disabled child element of £402.41/month.0 -
Right okay Iv reported the change to uc through week and spoke to them on phone but they didn’t mention reviving a disability element from them aswell he just said u already recived it that’s wat dla Is for she was awarded from 17/5/21 they are aware of this but first dla payment with back pay was recived Tuesday0

The person you spoke to on the phone may not be familiar with all the rules.
Post a note in your journal about payments
I have reported to you that my daughter has been awarded the higher rate care component of DLA from xxxx. I understand that this entitles me to have the severely disabled child element included in my UC calculation. Please advise me when this will be included from.
They should backdate the element to the start of the assessment period in which the DLA starts from.
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/890310/admf1.pdfF1120 In addition to the child element described at F1055, a further amount is included in the calculation of the UC maximum amount for each child or qualifying young person who is disabled1. This will be awarded at either a lower or a higher rate.
F1121 Disabled is not defined but for the purpose of this addition should be taken to mean a person who is
1. blind or
2. entitled to DLA or PIP.
F1123 The higher rate of disabled child addition1 is included where the child or qualifying young person is
entitled to the care component of DLA at the highest rate or
entitled to the daily living component of PIP at the enhanced rate or
blind.

Ok thankyou very much for that I have copied the information and added that to my journal hopefully someone will get back to me this week thanks very much0

Just spoke to someone else Iv updated the changed on my uc claim and she said they won’t reply through ur journal as it’s an automated system and it will automatically be added to your payments on ur next payment date does this sound correct?0
-
Check your next statement to see if it has been added.
You should also get arrears for previous periods since the start date of the DLA award.0 -
Hi I have checked my statement and the disability element as been added so payment as increase by £402 they have not added any back payment though .0
-
Any money owed will likely be paid separately. If you don't receive it then add a journal entry under the payment section and make enquiries about the payments owed.

I haven’t recived a letter regarding any payment owed and also , have left a note in journal and no one has got back to me0
-
Did you put the message under the payment section? If you didn't then you should do that and then a case manager will hopefully see it.

Hi I still haven’t recived the backpayment I updated a change 2 months ago and today recived this letter , I’m due to get paid on 27th and not recived backpayment in this months payment also tried to call for an understanding of this letter but no use can anyone help 0 -
Although the reference in the letter to a change that happened on 23/09/2021 doesn't make sense it appears to mean that they have just looked at the information you provided and have decided they will amend your UC from the date the change occurred. The decision has only been made today so you will have to wait a bit longer for any money due.chelss said:..I still haven’t recived the backpayment I updated a change 2 months ago ..0 -
But the letter don’t say I have any money due that’s wat I can’t understand they owe me two months back pay of £402 each month but haven’t stated this in their letter but said the change is as of today0
-
The letter for backdated money will be separate because first they have to recalculate the statements to work out how much money they owe you. Once they do this your current statements will be replaced with the new calculations so you may want to take copies now.
