Decision maker listened to my feedback about the assessor's report

Hi just had a call from pip today was a lovely lady telling me she was making a decision today on my claim ,I have had my report and wasn't happy with it ,so I asked her if I could ask her a few questions about my report ,she said yes ,so I said why as the lady whi did my telephone assesemt say I can go out on my own which cause me no distress, I told the lady on phone I told her I don't go out on my own I allways have to be accompanied by some one she apologised, I also said why did she put on my report as said as no thoughts of suicide etc, I said that's so wrong I explained to desssion maker I have 4 children whi all need me ,and they all have there own illness I won't go into all of them but one as a long term illness on medication for life unless they find a cure, second child a brain injury third child will keep that to myself, 4 child waiting on result possible cancer ,I said to lady wouod you kill yourself if your children needed you ,she said I'm so sorry amd no I wouldn't she was absolutely great amd really listened, the desssion maker was ringing to tell me my award had gone up from low rate care to high ,bit on phone she said I am now going to change your mobility also to enhanced, I explained to her about how bad my anxiety effects me she said she understands becasue her mum suffered with it ,so if decssion maker rings you and you aren't happy with report tell them over the phone, she did my decision today and letter will be in post today I will revive it in a few days with back pay till day of phone call for change of circumstances, please don't go by report if unhappy luckily I had a lovely lady who listened to me not like the assemsemt lady over phone ,I'm so happy I no longer have to worry about money and taxis or toppimg up phone etc so I can keep in contact with my children amd partner whislt working away , there is some nice decision makers out there glad I got chance to talk on phone to her

Thanks for sharing your story, I'm glad you got an award you were happy with after having a conversation with the decision maker. It's a shame that your report wasn't accurate as you see it.
Can I ask, do you receive any support to manage your anxiety levels? And are your children receiving support for their situations? it seems as though you have a lot on at the moment.

Hi thankyou ,and yes my son as support for his condition, my daughter id love to say yes regarding her brain damage but no ,n oome seems to really understand brain damage its been so hard we are also still going through a court case 10 years on ,yes 10 years later its been so stressful on a of us ,my daugher never allways had brain damage she had a accident and went through window of a double decker bus ☹☹ ,?? and my other daugher regarding cervical cancer until we no results we don't no what to do at minute, we are hoping and praying they got all cells and it asnt spread, and my other daughter ,dont really want to say that on here ,so yes that's why I suffer with anxiety ,I take medication and had cbt but tge lady was trying to get me to go out on my own mentioning going town it scared me that much I couldn't go again, my doctor who I used to see was lovely and understood my situation but now she as retired, now I'm to scared to open up to another one and get that bond back I was witg her for years ,so I don't no about me at minute I just take one day at a time ,bit Tim thankfull for the award which will make my life that little bit better I can now by myself a new bed and memory foam mattress as I have fibromyalgia also ,and also some support pillows etc with back pay to make my life that little bit more better ,I'm so glad I got such a lovely lady on the phone ,who understood my situation x0

Hi @Maddison69111 - welcome to this friendly & supportive community. I'm also very pleased to read your award has been increased. You certainly have had a difficult time with your children's varying health needs, which I'm sorry to read about, & which must be difficult to cope with.What a shame that your lovely Dr retired; was this your GP? As you were able to build up a rapport with her, you could do so again with another, so please don't be scared....it's worth a try.Anyway, thank you for sharing your success story.0
