Hi all, just an update , waiting for the pip form , we did ring but there’s a message to say they aware of postal delays & to give them more time.0
-
Form arrived today we are booking a meeting with someone from our local CAB to help us. Will let you know how we get on.0

Thank you for the update @dannistar - hope all goes well with your son's claim.1

@Ross_Scope thank you.0

Also (sorry) do I need to put on his form that we’d like it to be a long claim? Sorry if I’ve not worded that correctly, so if my son is successful then for it to be for a long period of time until it’s reviewed.
thank you0 -
You can put what you think the award length should be on the form @dannistar, yes

@Ross_Scope where abouts on the form would I put it please?Sorry to keep asking questions.0
-
Put it in the additional information space towards the back of the form.1

There’s a section at the back where you can add extra information. You need to state why you’re asking for a longer award length and if that can’t be given ask what evidence they used to give a shorter award length.1

Hi @dannistar - thank you for this update too. You can be quite specific about the award length you feel appropriate, so if you think it should be 10 years, then say so. Please don't be sorry about asking questions; we all know you're trying to get the correct outcome for your son.1
-
Thank you all.This is his first application for pip so would it be strange to ask for a specific length?0
-
No, @dannistar - I didn't know about this either when I had to 'migrate' from DLA to PIP, but have since learnt a lot from other forum members; most, like myself, wouldn't know to ask, yet you can, & it won't be to the detriment of your son's claim.......nothing ventured, nothing gained. His CP is not unfortunately going to improve. I have a genetic disorder which isn't going to improve either..... I got an award of 3 years (admittedly as the assessor said I might worsen), which was extended for 10 months due to Covid-19. I wish I'd known then (when I did my first PIP claim) what I know now....
