Favourite Place?

What’s your favourite place in the UK or abroad?

i haven’t been abroad much so I’ll stick to the UK.  I really like Durham Cathedral and the immediate vicinity. I also really liked Cheddar Gorge.

How about you? ?

Oh I forgot about lake Windermere, lovely place I agree.

i also forgot about Calpe in Spain, I had a lovely grilled sardine there once when I was a boy, really ? tasty.

My favourite place in the whole world is little place in Cornwall called Crackington Haven, but more specifically, I adore its little church, St Gennys. 
The churchyard is located at on a cliff top with the most amazing panoramic views of the sea and there are several benches dotted around to sit on.. 
We used to stay in the Holiday cottages alongside the church when our girls were young and I would often walk up there alone with a cup of tea in hand and just sit there taking in the sights and sounds of the sea, wondering about those who had been there before me.. 

We went back a few years ago and it all looked and felt exactly the same, it's pretty rare nowadays to find such a hidden gem that hasn't changed with time..

I know exactly what you mean @Luna51, some churches make me feel very spiritual. My eldest says he feels the same way and he is an atheist actually! I really like churches and Cathedrals as buildings, so interesting.

I went o Benidorm with my parents and really enjoyed myself, that was in 1965 though. Changed much you think?! ?

You cannot beat the Yorkshire Dales, any part of it. ?
But I do like Venice. In fact, I like the whole of Italy.

I am not at all religious but churches make me feel the same. When I go into one I feel kind of calm and safe if that makes sense?
