Has anyone had any success with the PIP mandatory Reconsideration ?
I got arthritis which makes it hard for me to get around with the pain on my back. I got a few other problems too. All evidence has been sent. Just sent it over this week so when am I looking to hear back roughly. Also I heard apparently they call you to discuss your award when you go through the MR, is this true ??

MRs can be successful although the success rate is higher at tribunal.
DWP may ring you to discuss your MR but will not necessarily do so.
Remember that PIP is not about diagnosis so although medical evidence may help the most important thing is that you explain how you are affected by your health in respect of carrying out the prescribed activities to the required standard (see the section on reliably in this link https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/personal-independence-payment-pip/pip-points-system).Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK. -
Hi,. I sent off a MR on the 2nd Aug so I'm waiting to see what happens. I've not heard anything as yet. Good luck with yours

@calcotti thank you for your help mate. It’s much appreciated
-
@effie678 I heard it could sometimes take 2 weeks so hopefully you’ll hear back soon. Good luck and keep us updated. Thanks for the help as well

Mr decision currently in most cases are taking a few months rather than weeks for a decision
It is taking up to 4 weeks to even get scanned onto the system to show they have been received
Then allocated to a decision maker to the bottom of their pile of claims to deal with
Obviously some get a decision sooner than others -

Someone else's timescale is likely to be totally different. For the MR at the moment, it's anything up to 3 months, sometimes longer.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying. If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help. -
