blue badge scheme. Can anyone share their experience of applying?

    They will be employed by your local authority to carry out medical assessments. They won't try & sell you anything.

    As I understand it the Blue Badge scheme is Local Authority managed so there's no 'automatic' qualification.

    I've twice applied for a blue badge, once when I was a lot younger & my parents were driving which required a council interview which involve a few questions and how easily I could walk (was granted) secondly giving info to current LA with proof of PIP etc, which took very little time.
    It looks from the threads that some councils are contracting out now.

    There are national automatic criteria, LA's also have discretionary criteria some of which need a medical assessment. Hence the contracting out to a medical clinic.
