Good evening all I’m asking for a friend who is on UC and also disabled and like myself haven’t really got a clue regarding benefits, he’s not sure what he’s entitled to I don’t think he can get the sdp on UC can he.? And also he’s heard about LWRCA but is unsure about what it is. Can anyone help please. Thankyou ☺️

There's no disability premiums such as SDP payable when claiming UC. They are only payable on the old legacy benefits.

LCWRA is Limited capability for work and work related activity. It's paid as part of a UC entitlement for those unable to work because of a health condition. It's the same as being in the Support Group for ESA.

If your friend has a health condition to start the work capability assessment process of for UC they must work less than 16 hours per week. (unless they're claiming a disability benefit)
They should report their health condition onto their journal and then send a fit note from their GP within 7 days. They will then be referred for a work capability assessment and will be sent forms to fill out, like ESA.
Once they've been assessed if they're awarded LCWRA then they will receive extra money from the 4th month of their claim, from when they reported the health condition.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
